Joanna Winograd (ARG)
Joanna is an artist and illustrator based in Berlin. Her work tells us about religions and beliefs, using a language and symbols that remind us of her main sources of inspiration – mythology, religion and Latin American art.
Her approach reflects the influences of the multiple countries and cultures she lived and grew up in. Inspired by this plurality, Joanna manages to create her own style, naive and dark, ruthless, lucid and optimistic at the same time.
Although religious themes permeate her work, her approach reveals a critical view on the topic, inviting the viewers to make up their own interpretation of the symbolism — or even to create an own religion.
