Nikoo Bafti (IRN/UK)

With each stroke of her tiny paintbrush, British-Iranian artist Nikoo Bafti takes us on a transcendental trip through psychic barriers between dimensions, full of masked figures, arcane rituals and enigmatic deities.
In today’s distracting technological society, Nikoo’s paintings intend to treat the sensory overload by encouraging the viewer to take a peek behind a thinning veil to an increasingly forgotten realm of spirits and magic. Influenced by the natural world, stories of unexplained encounters and all things David Lynch, Nikoo’s work often explores darker themes of mysticism, which are balanced out by her use of bright, saturated palettes and delicate emblematic markings.  >>>
